Our Program

At Pookies Poodles, our goal is to raise beautiful, healthy poodles with wonderful temperaments that can become cherished members of their families.

With over 20 years of experience with poodles, we understand that every puppy is an individual. From an early age, we spend time getting to know each puppy’s personality, confidence and temperament. This allows us to help families choose a puppy that is well suited to their home, lifestyle and expectations.

Thoughtfully Planned Litters

Our litters are carefully planned rather than simply produced. We consider health, temperament, structure, size and colour when selecting our pairings, with the goal of continually improving our program.

We keep our breeding program intentionally personal so that we can devote plenty of individual attention to our puppies. Our puppies are raised in our home and as part of our everyday lives, giving them the opportunity to become comfortable with people, household activity, handling and new experiences.

Raising Our Puppies

We believe the first weeks of a puppy’s life are incredibly important. Our puppies receive hands-on care and attention from birth, including early handling, Early Neurological Stimulation (ENS), scent introduction, regular grooming, nail care and the beginning stages of pad training.

As they grow, we gradually introduce them to different sights, sounds, surfaces and experiences to help build confidence and prepare them for their new homes.

Finding the Right Match

Choosing a puppy is about much more than colour. We work closely with our families to understand what they are looking for and help guide them toward a puppy whose personality, temperament and expected size may be the best fit.

Our program focuses primarily on red, apricot and cream poodles, with other colours and patterns occasionally available. We specialize in Moyen and smaller Standard Poodles, giving families an option between the traditional Miniature and larger Standard sizes.

Above all, our goal is to raise poodles that are not only beautiful, but intelligent, affectionate, confident and deeply loved from the very beginning.
